VitaSync
IoT-based smart wearable band for continuous real-time monitoring of patient vital signs including heart rate and SpO₂.
VitaSync is an IoT wearable device designed for continuous, non-invasive monitoring of patient vital metrics, with a focus on low-cost deployment in clinical and home-care settings.
Measured Parameters
- Heart rate (BPM): Photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor on the wrist.
- Blood oxygen saturation (SpO₂): Pulse oximetry using MAX30102 sensor.
- Body temperature: Infrared temperature sensing.
- Activity: Accelerometer-based step counting and motion detection.
System Architecture
- Microcontroller: Arduino-based embedded system for sensor interfacing and real-time data acquisition.
- Wireless transmission: Bluetooth / Wi-Fi module for streaming data to a companion mobile app.
- Display: Small OLED display for on-device readings.
- Alert system: Threshold-based alerts for abnormal readings (e.g., low SpO₂, irregular heart rate).
Simulation & Design
Circuit designed and validated in NI Multisim before hardware prototyping. PCB schematic designed for a compact form factor suitable for wrist-worn use.
Use Case
Targeted at post-operative monitoring, chronic disease management (hypertension, COPD), and elderly care — scenarios where continuous monitoring outside the hospital is essential.
